Since its founding in 2023, the Venice International Watercolor Festival has held its exhibition at the Palazzo dei Trecento in Treviso, Italy, for three consecutive editions. This thirteenth-century medieval landmark, situated on the Piazza dei Signori at the heart of Treviso's city centre, once served as the seat of the local municipal council and stands today as one of the most representative medieval public buildings in the Veneto region, remaining under the direct stewardship of the Municipality of Treviso. Its sweeping vaulted interiors and atmosphere of deep historical gravitas harmonize naturally with the classical spirit of watercolor art, lending each edition of the exhibition a distinctive sense of historical depth and artistic solemnity.
Three successive editions held at this venue have gradually established the Palazzo dei Trecento as an important international platform for watercolor art. The exhibitions serve not only as a concentrated showcase of the creative achievements of shortlisted artists from around the world, but also as a space for dialogue that transcends national borders and cultures. Under the official supervision of the Municipality of Treviso, the festival has received formal recognition and support from the Italian local government, elevating it beyond the scope of an art competition alone and making it a meaningful part of international artistic collaboration and Sino-Italian cultural exchange. Through three editions of sustained commitment, the Venice International Watercolor Festival has accumulated considerable international influence and established a solid brand foundation.
The 4th Le Venezie International Watercolor Festival will officially open at the Palazzo dei Trecento on October 17, 2026, accompanied by the award ceremony. We warmly welcome watercolor artists, enthusiasts, and art students from around the world to participate and join us in celebrating this annual international gathering of watercolor art.
