David Gutiérrez Delgado

David Gutiérrez Delgado is a Spanish art collector and curator, founder of The Almenara Collection and The Almenara Art Prize, and a judge of the Third Venice International Watercolor Festival.

David was born in Montoro, a small town in Andalusia, in the south of Spain. His academic background is notably diverse: he studied pharmacy and orthopedics in Granada and optometry in Madrid, while simultaneously pursuing English language studies and earning a brown belt in Taekwondo. He currently practices as a pharmacist and optician, devoting a significant portion of his energy in parallel to the collection and promotion of contemporary art.

The Almenara Collection, which he founded, is centered on the mission of supporting living artists, providing them with sustained resources and visibility through a wide range of projects and activities. Building on this foundation, he established The Almenara Art Prize, which offers participating artists both financial support and meaningful promotional opportunities. The prize is accompanied by an annual awards ceremony and exhibition held in Córdoba, Spain, with shortlisted and winning works displayed on the official website and across social media platforms on an ongoing basis. Through its distinctive judging framework and generous prize structure, the award has earned considerable influence within Spain's figurative, realist, and watercolor art communities. David also serves as a member of the selection committee of Masters of Realism, contributing to the professional evaluation of contemporary realist artists on an international platform.

Within the Venice International Watercolor Festival, David brings to the jury a distinctive perspective shaped by his deep experience as a collector and his broad familiarity with the Spanish and international watercolor art ecosystem.
