Raffaello Padovan
Raffaello Padovan was born in 1957 in Italy and is based in Treviso, where he continues to live and work. He serves as President of the Italian Cultural and Artistic Exchange Association, and holds the position of Lifetime Professor at the Italian National Arts Foundation.
A distinguished art educator and art historian, Padovan's practice spans an exceptional range of disciplines — from painting and sculpture to set design, theatrical direction, and dramatic writing. His works are characterised by soft, atmospheric transitions between light and shadow, layered veils of colour that seem to breathe and shift, punctuated at times by sudden movements or folds that evoke the fragmented nature of memory and half-remembered dreams. A dedicated scholar of the history and criticism of visual and performing arts, Padovan stands as one of Italy's most versatile and intellectually rigorous figures in contemporary art.
