Huang You Wei

Born in 1965 in Yueyang, Hunan Province, Huang Youwei established his personal watercolor studio in Beijing in 1999, dedicating himself to the exploration and creation of a new style of Chinese watercolor painting.

He has developed a distinctive personal artistic voice through his masterful depiction of Beijing’s hutongs, wild blossoms, and tranquil streams, earning him recognition by media as a leading figure in Chinese Neo-Realist watercolor painting.

Huang possesses a keen eye for the quiet beauty in daily life. The exquisitely rendered details in his paintings serve as a medium for his inner emotions, while the rich, atmospheric warmth he creates reflects his vision for a harmonious life.

As a pioneer in art education, he leads one of China's largest online watercolor programs, teaching over 20,000 students online alongside vibrant offline events and workshops.
